THE ONLY NORTH EAST SHOW ON FRANKIE AND THE HEARTSTRINGS MAY TOUR!
“One of the best live bands in Britain” The Guardian
“There’s a certain breed of arch indie rock that belongs peculiarly to the north, one that plays wit, studied weakness and flashy intellectualism against a backdrop of rugged industrial history… Sunderland’s Frankie And The Heartstrings have always been self-identified followers of that creed” NME
The final show of Frankie & The Heartstrings’ May Tour 2015 sees the band return to the North East in support of their new single. Join them for a Saturday night party in Boro!
Support comes from Night Flowers – a five-piece London-based band connected by their Humberside origins. They encompass the wistful sound of jangly eighties guitar pop and early nineties shoegaze, completed by the intertwining male/female vocals of siblings Greg and Hester Ullyart – you can almost imagine them soundtracking your favourite John Hughes movie.
Rounding off the bill are Kingsley Chapman and The Murder – taking references from the mythology of iconic rock and art The Murder are a dizzying mix of thundering Viking warrior drums, sparkling avant garde pianos, ominous romantic strings and barbed wire guitars all underpinned by Kingsley’s savage croon.
