Estill Voice Training Level One & Two Course
Estill Voice Training Level One and Two Course
Estill Voice Training is the system that professionals from Broadway to the Met to Nashville are using in their vibrant performances. Acting and singing teachers and speech language pathologists use this method to accurately identify problems and to fast-track clients to solutions that promote optimal vocal health while achieving a desired sound.
Participants will learn how to control the vocal structures that maximize versatility in speech and song, with the primary goal of maintaining vocal health. This five day course involves lecture, endoscopic videos, anatomical models and slides. There are application activities in small groups with opportunities for individual attention in master class sessions at the end of most instruction days. Participants will learn to read a spectrogram with applications for continuing feedback on executing the Figures for Voice.
This course is appropriate for singers, actors, speakers, voice teachers, stage directors, choir directors, and speech language pathologists. Seasoned professionals will gain new tools and learn the answers to previously unanswered questions about the voice. Novices will build a strong foundation based upon scientific knowledge of the voice.
This course is taught by long-time Estill teacher, Kerrie Obert. Ms. Obert is a certified course instructor with 25 years experience in teaching this model. She is a speech pathologist with expertise in the management of voice disorders. She was the Director of Medical Arts at The Ohio State University Voice & Swallowing Disorders Clinic and more recently a faculty member in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Ohio University. Ms. Obert has published books on voice and is an internationally sought-after lecturer.
