Can you bike 10 miles, kayak 8 miles, and run 3 miles? Or can you at least do 1 of the three? On Saturday, June 6th, the 5th Annual Erwin Wilderness Challenge will take off in Downtown Erwin, travel along Harnett County country roads, down the Cape Fear River and back into downtown Erwin via the Dunn Erwin Railtrail. Participants can do the Individual Triathlon or team up with a couple of other athletes in the Team Triathlon Competition. The Triathlon starts at 8 am in front of the Erwin Gazebo Downtown, on 13th Street, Erwin. Registration starts at 7:00 am. Also starting at 8:30 will be a 5k or 10k Run for the Fun of it. These races are for those that just want to run and not participate in the biking or kayaking events. Medals will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, male and female, in the individual events. In the team event, medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the first three teams to finish.
