Equal Love marks 11 years of protesting against the current Australian legislation which denies 2 people of the same gender the right to marriage.
Australians who identify as GBLTI have been living as 2nd class citizens while our friends in England, New Zealand, Canada, France and more than 70% of American citizens are empowered with equality in their marriage acts.
It is not OK for Australian Federal politicians to continue to keep this issue on the back burner. Our community of people have had enough of waiting for the timing of fragile political parties to make a move to remove this discrimination. Our people continue to suffer depression as a result of this homophobic position of our leaders.
We will be heard, we will demand resolve, we will fight for what is our right to be treated in all areas of legislation and to finally remove discrimination based on gender.
Join us on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia and help us send a loud and clear message to Canberra that we demand an immediate Marriage Act that is inclusive of all love.
