The Lithuanian business club in Stockholm, in cooperation with Estonian-Swedish Chamber of Commerce (ESCC) and Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) would like to invite you to meet three chief economists and to discuss about the economic situation in Europe and Russia.

and Nerijus Maliukevičius, Vilnius University, IIRPS (LIT), will talk shortly about „Tools of Destabilization”: Russian Non-military Influence in the Baltic States´´.
Shortly about the speakers:
Mārtiņš Kazāks is Chief Economist for Swedbank in Latvia since 2005, and since 2010 also Group Deputy Chief Economist for Swedbank. He is one of the most quoted and respected economists in Latvia. He holds MSc (with Distinction) and PhD in Economics from Queen Mary University of London. He has been a lecturer and an assistant professor at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga from 1996 to 2008. Mārtiņš was a member of the Strategic Analysis Commission from 2006 to 2011, a think tank under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Latvia. As of January 1 2014, he is a member of the Fiscal Discipline Council of Latvia.
Tõnu Mertsina is Chief Economist for Swedbank in Estonia since 2013. Before joining the bank he led a team of national accounts in Statistics Estonia and was responsible for the GDP calculation. In addition, Tõnu has worked in the Bank of Estonia, where he was responsible for the central bank’s preparations in joining the European Union. He is one of the most quoted economists in Estonia. Tõnu has long academic experience- he has lectured at different universities in Estonia. He holds MSc degree in economics since 1992 and has a certificate of postgraduate studies at University of Oxford, Queens College in 1993-1994.
Dr Nerijus Mačiulis is as a chief economist at Swedbank in Lithuania and a part time associate professor at ISM University, where he teaches investment management and macroeconomics. Previously he has taught at INSEEC Grand Ecole (France), Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico), FHS St. Gallen (Switzerland) and University of Ballarat (Australia). He is an author of number of publications on currency crises, international finance and economic integration and editorial board member at “Baltic Journal of Economics”. He is also a member of the Judicial Appointment Advisory Committee.
Dr Nerijus Maliukevičius, is the leading expert in information warfare, political communication as well as Russian studies. He is lecturer and scientific researcher at Vilnius University Institute of International Relations and Political Science. He is co-author of two books about Russian information warfare strategies: “Between East and West: Lithuanian geo-cultural values survey” (2007) and “The humanitarian dimension of Russian foreign policy toward Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and the Baltic States” (2010). In 2014 he was a co-author of another international research, which was conducted by Swedish Defense Research Agency (FOI) – “Tools of Destabilization: Russian Soft Power and Non-military Influence in the Baltic States.
