The DG Northern Ohio Region will host a reception honoring Roe Green, Northeast Ohio theatre’s grandest dame, who will tell us, among other things, why she loves living playwrights. Roe is Honorary Producer of NGTF, and her philanthropy has made possible 12 years of new works festivals at Cleveland Play House; the Roe Green Theatre at Kent State University; and the newest round of Legacy Project tapes for the Dramatists Guild Fund, which honored her in 2013 as national Patron of the Year. There will be food and drink, all at no charge.
At 3:30, we will move on up to the Tomsich (mezzanine) Lobby of the Allen Theatre for a conversation with the 2015 Roe Green New Play Award winner, Rebecca Gilman moderated by CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley. This session is also free of charge.
At 5:00 p.m., we are invited to attend the staged reading of Gilman’s new play Soups, Stews and Casseroles: 1976. That performance, which runs until 7:00 p.m. in The Helen theatre of the Allen Theatre Complex. CPH has invited DG members and their guests to attend the reading for $10.00 per ticket – a savings of 50%. Reservations must be made in advance.
Contact Faye Sholiton (firstname.lastname@example.org) to reserve seats and arrange payment for any of these three events.
