It's Wichita's premiere Dragon Ball Z's weekly tournament! Entry is $5 and the tournament will be held at Battlestations Gaming. This will be a constructed deck format.
Tournament starts at 2:00pm and will go until around 5:00pm (later if time is needed). Make sure to come out to we can support our new local DBZ community.
The tournament will be standard Panini. No old Score Z cards will be allowed. The only exception to this rule is Panini cards with yellow text which do allow you to play the old Score version of the card if you so choose. Also no proxy cards. Only officially licensed cards.
The format will be Swiss. Best of one with rounds lasting for 45 minutes. If time is reached in a round, the players will receive one additional turn. If no player has won the game at the end of those turns, the game will be counted as a draw.
8 or less – 4 rounds with no top cut
8 – 16 players – 4 rounds with a cut to top 4.
17 – 32 players – 5 rounds with a cut to top 8.
33 – 64 players – 6 rounds with a cut to top 8.
65+ players – 7 rounds with a cut to top 8.
Decks will consist of no more and no less than 60 cards with one Main Personality and one Mastery on the side board.
All cards musts be sleeved and the sleeves must have opaque backings that completely obscure the back of the card. Sleeves cannot be marked or in any way altered. If a player's sleeves are put into question, TO's will have the final say.
Cheating will not be tolerated under any circumstance. This includes, but is not limited to, card marking, stacking, illegal shuffling, looking through deck outside of card effects, drawing extra cards, knowingly incorrect use of card effects, and any willing act which would circumvent fair play. If it is decided by a TO that a player cheated, it will be an immediate disqualification from the tournament and forfeiture of any and all winnings.
No profanity or abusive language. This includes mean spirited banter between players. Talking down to or making fun of another player because of skill, race, religion, or any other trait will result in a warning. A second occurrence will result in a round loss, while a third will result in a disqualification from the tournament.
Searching for Cards a.k.a “Cherry Picking Rule”:
Whenever you use a card effect to search for a card in your Life Deck, always show your opponent the card you searched for and shuffle your Life Deck and allow him to cut your deck. Whenever you search your Life Deck for a card and there is no legal card that you can get, you may fail the search. If this occurs, shuffle your Life Deck and proceed with the game. Your opponent does not get the option to look through your Life Deck to make sure that there are no legal cards for you to get.
Draw or Dropping games:
Entrants are expected to play each game to the best of their ability. Regardless if that opponent is a fellow teammate or friend. Any entrant(s) who state they are purposely taking a draw in order to manipulate standing will be automatically disqualified. Any entrant(s) seen to be playing a match in such a manner to slow or impede the progress of game in order to cause a draw will be warned. Any continuation of these activities will result in a disqualification.
