The band aim to change the latter by way of their latest album, "721835"; a curious collection of songs that demand to be heard. The album was released exclusively in the form of trading cards in 2013 prior to it's upcoming physical release in 2014. (each card contained different songs, videos, pictures and other hidden features created by the band for the collector to discover). Concocting their own brew of progressive art rock without any of the brooding seriousness, Double Experience crafted the album intent on reinstating the lightheartedness and good nature they felt was absent from modern rock music, resulting in what can best be described as prog rock for the ADD generation. "721835" was recorded by fellow science-fiction aficionado Al Jacob (He is Legend, A Skylit Drive) in North Carolina.
But even futuristic, forward-thinking bands have a past, and Double Experience are no exception. Their previous album, "One Big Quicksand", was technically their debut release – they just weren't called Double Experience yet. The album was recorded and produced by up-and-comer Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance) mere weeks after the bands union on Canada Day, 2011 and released via Blue Sapphire/Universal Music Canada.
From the spring of 2012 onward. the band continued to perform headlining tours in Canada as well as the United Kingdom and the USA, booking hundreds of shows independently from outside forces. During this time, Double Experience were also given the opportunity to record theme music for "The Legend of Thunder", a popular Machinima director / Video Game Commentator with over 59 million channel views. Playing everywhere from impromptu shows in video game stores to tattoo conventions in stadiums, their travels also included a showcase at Canadian Music Week 2014 and a fifty date tour of the United Kingdom.
And although you've still never heard of Double Experience, after everything you just read, you can't wait to change that.
MARTYR DE MONA are currently cracking skulls across the nation with their huge anthemic grunge tinged metal, setting the trend for the next wave whilst tipping an appreciative hat to their illustrious predecessors from the Midlands; BLACK SABBATH & LED ZEPPELIN.
‘UNDOUBTEDLY THE MIDLANDS HOTTEST BAND AT THE MOMENT’ (Midlands Rocks)
Following the release of the hit single Eva in 2010 the band went on to release their eponymous debut album in 2011 to huge critical acclaim. Band of the year awards and nominations ensued; and following three years of touring including headline shows in Wolverhampton, London, Birmingham, Leeds and Dublin and performances at the LG Arena in support of Guns N’ Roses, Avenged Sevenfold, Black Sabbath and Alter Bridge, MDM set about writing their defining album.
Consisting of founding member Louis Hale (Vocals/Guitar), Joshua Jones (Guitar/Vocals), Joshua Wooldridge (Bass/Vocals) and Ashley Leatherland (Drums); Martyr de Mona are on the brink of a major breakthrough with the release of ‘Impera’, produced by Romesh Dodangoda (Funeral For A Friend, Motorhead), released to huge acclaim in March 2014, reaching the top 10 on the Amazon download charts. The lead single ‘Influence & Persuasion’ reached the Kerrang! Radio top 40 and received mass national airplay in the UK and also featured prominently on US radio.
Following two UK tours in support of ‘Impera’ and performances with Black Stone Cherry & Slash, the band dubbed the ‘UK’s answer to Alter Bridge’ are setting the standard!
Coventry (UK) based band Temple Black formed in October 2013. Each member unique and fierce just like their music. It’s hard to place them in a specific genre.
Temple Black are upcoming band, they started gigging late 2014. With each member full with character, banter, laughing and rocking their way through each gig I'm sure 2015 we will only be seeing more of them.
