Death Bells are a Sydney/Byron Bay based band, featuring current and ex-members of Sundial, Hopelesstown, Low Season, Time Crisis and Upperground. Death Bells subscribe to diverse musical tastes and influences, blending the sounds and songwriting ethos of Northern England in the early 1990s with the hazey suburbs of Sydney’s inner city, all executed with modern production and attention to detail. After nearly a year spent writing, recording and practicing material that blurs the lines between shoegaze and hook-oriented pop music, this will be their first performance.
They will be supported by Hedge Fund and Hunch on the 23rd of May at Brighton Up Bar.
$10 - Doors at 8pm, bands from 8:30pm. Make it out.
Sydney indie-rock outfit, Hedge Fund, have just released an eclectic new single ‘Look Who’s Back’. The track was produced by the group’s vocalist / guitarist Will Colvin and engineered by Richard Belkner (Neil Finn, Bertie Blackman) at Free Energy Device Studios in Sydney.
Hedge Fund released two singles in 2014 – ‘Outta Sight’ and ‘Object Of My Affection’ – both of which resulted in outstanding reviews and support from the likes of triple j, triple j Unearthed and a slew of international music blogs.
Hunch are a four piece rock band from Sydney's inner west. The band was formed after a year or two of talk between Hunter and Ruben who had been writing their own material and collaborating since meeting in early high school and found Jimi and Jonny to play the rhythm sections. The songs vary from heavy, melodic rock to soft, sweet pop tunes and some things in between. This band also happen to be brilliant live.
