The women of Denizens Brewing Co., DC Metro Girls Pint Out, and The Black Squirrel are throwing a Happy Hour for good beer and good works. Hear how the brain trust of Denizens went from bureaucrats to brew-aucrats in 2014, when they opened a production brewery and beer garden in Silver Spring.
Mingle with Denizens owner, Taylor Barnes; DC Metro Girls Pint Out Chapter Head, Chrystalle Ball; and The Black Squirrel’s Amy Bowman. Drink to support the good works of the District-based Calvary Women’s Services.
The following Denizens beer will be tapped:
• Big Red Norm Red Ale,
• Lowest Lord ESB,
• Born Bohemian Pilsner and
• The newly made Brett Leroy 100% Brett IPA.
The more you drink the more you will support the good works of Calvary Women’s Services, with 20 percent of the proceeds earmarked for the charity. You also can support women in need by buying a raffle ticket to win a private Denizens brewery tour, a hoodie, T-shirts, and glassware. One-hundred percent of the raffle sales will benefit Calvary.
This women-featured event held in the downstairs Tap Room of The Black Squirrel and feature four Denizens beers.
RSVPs are encouraged (http://dcwomeninbeer.splashthat.com/). As an added bonus, it’s Burger Night, when the Black Squirrel's classic and veggie burgers are reduced by half the customary sale price.

Girls Pint Out is a national craft beer organization for women. Our mission is to build a community of women who love craft beer and who are an active, contributing part of the greater craft beer community.
Calvary Women's Services provides homeless women in the District transitional and permanent housing, personalized case management, life skills and education opportunities, job training, health and wellness services, on-site therapy and daily addiction recovery meetings. At Calvary, they believe every woman has the strengths and gifts she needs to be successful. Each woman identifies and builds on her strengths, meeting her goals for safe housing, good health and financial independence (www.calvaryservices.org).
