Davy Cowan is a prominent singer/songwriter from the Highlands of Scotland, a home-grown Troubadour in the true sense of the word. His music is original, inventive and thought-provoking (The Scots Magazine) and encapsulates the essence of many of the stories and situations that have inspired him over the years: people, places, old memories, faces; sometimes quite mellow & reflective, sometimes edgy & rugged...'like the tough and vulnerable gravitas of Johnny Cash with the pleasing feel of Tom Russell' (R2 Magazine Rock 'n' Reel) or even a Scottish Steve Forbert - a mercurial melting pot of ideas and styles.
As well as being an accomplished solo artist, Davy was a founder member & front man of the Highland Celtic Rock band "Coinneach" who released 3 critically acclaimed studio albums, and he has toured extensively around the UK & Europe. 'Most importantly Davy is an original writer and outstanding performer, whose vibrant repertoire spans some 25 years!' (Martin Stephenson, The Daintees). Steeped in both counter culture and Highland tradition, Davy is a tasteful mixed bag of New Wave creative power and has a unique energy and spirit which is apparent in his solo albums, "Fragile People", "The Journey" and his latest album release "Working Man's Dream" in 2013.
