Presented by Arts Etobicoke, Lakeshore Arts, and City of Toronto, Dancing in the Third Act is a unique seniors’ dance project created by award-winning choreographer Randy Glynn. Dancing In The Third Act is a signature project for Cultural Hotspot West: Etobicoke.
Under Glynn’s guidance, 12 seniors with little to no dance training bring their indefatigable strength, endurance and life experience to an intimate and playful piece. The senior participants receive 3 months of intensive dance training and rehearsal that culminates in 3 professionally staged public performances.
This community arts initiative also provides opportunities for the art students at Silverthorn Collegiate to document the rehearsal process using traditional sketching methods, photography, and video, culminating in a travelling art exhibition. Dancing In The Third Act is as entertaining as it is life-affirming.
Dancing in the Third Act is sponsored by City of Toronto Culture and Delmanor Prince Edward.
Performances are on May 20, 21, 22 at 8:00pm.
Tickets are FREE!
