Dainton, Rattery and Hemerdon - The Devon Banks - GWR180 event!

 16 May
 Warrensleigh Town station
  - - -
 Warrensleigh and Canalside Railway
The three names of Dainton, Rattery and Hemerdon banks have long stuck fear into the inexperienced driver and firemen of British Railways western region as being amongst the steepest adhesion worked railways in England, and what better way is there to celebrate the Great Western Railways 180th birthday than to recreate the trains that ran over these very local to the W&CR stretches of railway line! Every available and suitable locomotive from our home fleet will be in service, along with some visitors as well. Provisional permission has been given to run TWO mainline specials between Exeter and Plymouth starting from our mainline base at Fernleighford and doing a round trip using Castle No 5068 for one and a double header with Hall No 4918 and Manor No 7825 for the other, taking in Dainton, Hemerdon and Rattery at least once! More details will follow in the proceeding months, but this is a gala not to miss!
