Save the date! On June 2 Leiden University College The Hague will host a festival to celebrate the completion of the inaugural Community Project course, as well as the broad range of volunteer activities that LUC students take up in the community of The Hague (and beyond).
Come hear about the experiences of Community Project students who have been working in local secondary schools, and get a peek into their research on issues around multiculturalism, diversity, social justice, and education.
There will also be information tables for community organisations that can use volunteer help over the summer and in the coming school year -- so take this chance to get involved!
And finally, there will be a keynote by Jelmer Evers, the Dutch nominee for the Global Teacher Prize, who will speak to us about the power of good teaching and politics of secondary education in The Netherlands.
3:00 pm - Student Panel on Community Engagement
4:30 pm - Volunteer Fair
5:00 pm - Keynote by Jelmer Evers
6:30 pm - Drinks & Music
More detailed information to come soon, and you can attend part of all of the proceedings.
The Festival is free and open to the public, so bring your friends -- and get ready to Engage The Hague!
