Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls...
It’s that time of year yet again where we see the return of the no holds bared ‘Coco Lopez & El Dorado Cocktail Challenge’ in association with Hamilton Beach.
Now in it’s 4th year, this cocktail competition will see 10 of the UK’s finest bartenders battle it out in a fight of whit, banter & mixology to see who will win the £1000.00 first place prize... No points for second place…!
The competition focus’s on not only the quality of both drinks but also an outstanding performance and crowd pleasing ‘banterful’ presentation… just look at past years performances for inspiration…!
The competition will take place on Thursday 11th June 2015 from 3pm at The Liars Club, Manchester.
Entries for the competition are to be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight on Monday 18th May and finalists will be notified via email at midday on Friday 22nd May 2015.
To enter, submit two drinks:
1. Twisted Pina Colada – the bartender’s TWIST on a Pina Colada using any variation they wish. The only requirements for this round is that the drink must be blended using a Hamilton Beach Fury Blender (provided) and the use of El Dorado 3yo or 5yo & of course Coco Lopez. It must also resemble a Pina Colada. Ingredients, measurements, garnish and vessel are all determined by the bartender and can be as outrageous as you like... Banter & Performance criteria weigh equally to the cocktail itself so bring your A-Game…!
N.B. the inclusion of a Bennett Opie Cocktail Cherry’s (with stem) will be highly favoured in judging...
2. Own creation – Again, El Dorado 3yo or 5yo must be used in conjunction with a minimum of 20ml of Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut. The rest is up to you…
Participants must submit the following information for both recipes:
Name of Competitor:
Name & Location of Bar:
Ingredients in ml:
Method (of 2nd drink):
Competitors will have 10 minutes to make and present both drinks in one visit to the bar which will be judged by the 2014 Coco Lopez Cocktail Challenge Champion Marco Piroli, Sam Fish - Mojo & El Dorado, Martin Shaw - Hamilton Beach and BarLife UK’s very own Simon Webster.
These 4 scholars of mixology & the hospitality industry will be deciding who takes the top prize of £1000.00 cash along with a bottle of El Dorado 21yo. Whilst not forgetting that the best twisted Pina Colada on the day will take home a Hamilton Beach Fury Blender worth over £700.00.
Hosting the competition and testing the bartender’s banter and whit will be James Coston - Coco Lopez & Lyndon Higginson - The Liar’s Club.
The gauntlet is laid down…
Who will be the 2015 Coco Lopez & El Dorado Cocktail Challenge Champion…?
