The already cult venue from Lyon, Le Sucre is coming at Club La Vilaine. Actively connected to Les Nuits Sonores Festival, they succeeded in building a "cultural venue 2.0" on a sugar factory rooftop welcoming club nights, conferences, concerts and aperitifs throughout the year.
We asked them to curate a night here and they chose two artists affiliated to the venue.
SACHA MAMBO (FR- Macadam Mambo)
"As a DJ who expresses and exercises his freedom Sacha Mambo aka MZKBX goes many
places, touching on many genres, telling endless stories. For him, knowing music doesn’t mean specializing
in one particular style, far from this. Proof made with Macadam Mambo imprint he co-runs alongside
Guillaume des Bois. The label has achieved a nice international reputation in the underground scene with
a series of releases focused on eclectic Disco edits, Balearic music, Chicago House and special electronic music.
DJ and digger for over ten years, his musical culture taps into a wide spectrum of influences.
for the past two years, he has been a resident at Le Sucre in Lyon (FR) , where he's earmarked his very peculiar style by playing Afro, Disco, Acid, Techno, Rock or Industrial sounds…
Aside tons of smart edits he put together for Macadam Mambo, Sacha is also a respected producer
known as MZKBX [muzikbox]. Member of Karat Records, Skylax and Lyon's new label That Place, his debut
album « From This Desire » was released in 2014 on the Karat. Showing a tribute to Acid, Dub, New Beat and Techno, it’s a trans-generational, cosmic work that reveals the versatile world of the french producer."

Visitors Fo Reworks 'That Cave EP' was the first release from THAT PLACE records :
Already Played by Laurent Garnier, Session Victim, Iron Curtis, Quarion, Kez YM, Red Rack’Em, Jacques Renault, … UPC 827170546561 Rel date 28.7. 2014 Special Remarks:screenprinted cover Tracklist A1 : Space 1 A2 : Space 3 (Flight of Stairs Version) B1 : Space 2 B2 : Space 3 That Place’s concept is to give a musical tribute to a place that marked the life of the artist. The label leaves space to the subjectivity of the artist in both musical style as visual on the cover because it’s him who chosen the illustration. ?That Place is intended to be broad in terms of musical style, it can be house, techno, disco edit, ambient, acid, etc.. As long as the music reflects the soul of the artist. That Place is a label run by Juliano. He honors for this first release a Lyon’s artist: Visitors for Reworks. The latter has happened here 4 House, Electro and Techno tracks. “Space 1″ is the opening track fot this Ep. VFR puts forward a basseline ever bounce and go in acid tones while the instrumental part takes us in a constant dynamic. The second piece is entitled “Space 3 (Flight of Stairs Version)” and is a journey towards experimentation with electro acid sounds. On the flip side of the disc there is the track “Space 2″ who is Breaky and goes on the lovely flavour of Blip Techno. Closing the disc, “Space 3″ which is probably the most dancefloor piece of this Ep and shows the ingenuity of VFR to give groove and voltage to a song.
Younger, when I was living in my parent’s South of France home I was spending a lot of time playing
in the underground of their House. That place was
a kind of Ali Baba’s cave which inspired me a lot.
So here, I decided to write a track for each space
of this cave. The 1st space, arched and lit by the daylight was the one where I played every summer and where I had been tinkering a lot of stuffs thanks to the workshop’s tools. The second space, lit by a neon was a place where I always found old weird stuffs as charmed magazines called PHOTO... The last space was especially dark and was hiding some bikes stacked on sand.
