ClemenGold and Zandvliet Wine Estate:
The music festival at Wacky Wine
Western Cape, South Africa : 5-7 June 2015
ClemenGold and Zandvliet Wine Estate teamed up to ensure that the Robertson Wine Valley’s Wacky Wine Weekend (June 2015) will be a colossal, fun-filled three day event.
This festival will feature the launch of the inaugural ClemenGold and Zandvliet Music Festival, Kyknet’s very own Tjiff en Tjaff, Rise and Shine Yoga by team Anahat (Stellenbosch), catering by the well-known and highly sought after Antoinette Events and much more.
This unique pairing has been made possible by the recent acquisition of Zandvliet Wine Estate by ANB Investments (the holding company for ClemenGold). The recent purchase of Zandvliet and the up and coming Wacky Wine weekend presented an opportunity too tempting to refuse. We invite all to come and celebrate this new partnership with us, surrounded by great wine, early season ClemenGolds and fabulous entertainment.
The music festival, has long been a dream for the ClemenGold team, who have extensive relations with and lend support to key artists in South Africa such as Luna Paige, Albert Frost, Simon Orange, Chris Chameleon and Lizzie Meiring amongst others. The ClemenGold and Zandvliet Music Festival, officially kicks off with the opening performance scheduled for Friday evening at 18h00.
Khan Morbee (front man for 12 years of the Parlotones) and Luna Paige will take the lead in ushering in a new era for Zandvliet.
Rise and Shine at 8h30 Saturday morning with a yoga stretch led by the Stellenbosch team from Anahat yoga and wellness centre.
We know that the little ones want to be entertained from early in the day, so we invited Spektrum Children's Theatre (who have been entertaining young and old since 1991) to present two magical fairy tale theatre pieces over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday mornings). Saturday morning they present the famous Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale, followed by a surprise visit, meet and greet session with popular Kyknet TV characters, Tjiff & Tjaff! Bring your kids to get their picture taken with these celebrities.
Before heading into the main marquee for Saturday’s musical line up, taste through a full line up of some of Zandvliet’s finest. Do you have a bit of shopping that needs to be done? Well Zandvliet is known for its “Big Bottles”, impress your friends with 1.5 litre magnums and bottles that go up to an impressive 15 litres!
Saturday, includes a full day of music from 13h00 onwards, where wine and music lovers will be entertained by some of South Africa’s best singer-songwriters and musicians. The hilarious and talented Peter Mitchell, AKA the Scotsman, will guide you through a day of non-stop original and proudly South African music, featuring solo performances by Simon Orange, Luna Paige, Nick Turner, Gerald Clark, Chris Chameleon and Albert Frost. The backing band consists of award-winning bassist, composer and producer, Schalk Joubert and top drummer, Kevin Gibson. Twice during the day, all musicians will collaborate on stage for an epic ClemenGold jam session.
But wait, there’s more, while many farms start to wind down their programs, the fun at Zandvliet is still in full swing offering that perfect Sunday vibe. The day will start once again with Rise and Shine Yoga by the Anahat team. If your children missed Saturday’s children's theatre, no worries – they are back on Sunday morning for a 9 am performance. Sunday morning little theatre goers can clock in for the fun fairy tale, Jack and the Beanstalk.
Then the ClemenGold and Zandvliet Music Festival continues with its surprise theatrical production, “Peels of Laughter and Barrels of Fun” . This unique assembly of talent, hosted by the well- known and much applauded Lizzie Meirring (Bizzie Lizzie) , features Heine du Toit (the ClemenGold food technologist) and Jacques Cilliers (winemaker for Zandvliet); as they take you through a specially selected ClemenGold product line up and premium Zandvliet wines. Chris Chameleon and Luna Paige will once again grace the stage and intermingle throughout this tantalizing all-star cast line up.
ClemenGold and Zandvliet invite you to share in its zest for life and love of South African wine, fruit and music!
