In cultures noted for exceptional cuisine, delicious food and beautiful music often go hand in hand. For theC.O.O.K. event, Neil Fuentes combines his formidable skills in both those arenas to feed both your body and your soul.
Neil grew up on a farm in Venezuela, and in his mother’s kitchen, where he learned the wonders of gastronomy – using fresh vegetables, farm-raised meat and homemade cheese to forge his culinary path. Neil’s passion for entertainment also began early, attending a performing arts school where he developed the acting, singing and dancing “chops” he displays today. As an international flight attendant, he traveled around the world and experienced exotic food, wine and spirits, which reignited his passion for cooking.
He arrived in the United States in 1995 and worked his way up in the hospitality industry, ultimately becoming director of Catering for the brew-house/restaurant chain, Southport Brewing Company (SBC).
Neil combines remarkable food talents and theatrical flair to create impressive events and innovative menus. He is often featured as “The Sensational Singing Chef” on WTNH Television’s “CT Style.” He appeared on Food Network’s “Chopped” and became one of that network’s “Rewrapped” Champions last December. He offers public and private cooking demonstrations and makes appearances at theater galas, food and wine festivals, and charitable events. He also performs throughout the state with the Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus.
Tickets are $65; each attendee will receive a free copy of a mini-cookbook, being published on Neil’s behalf by Gateway.
