CAVLP SPRING WALKS: Restoring the Historic Landscape at Chatelherault (FREE)
Chatelherault Country Park, Carlisle Road, Ferniegair, Hamilton, GB
Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership
Join Ranger Team Leader Mike on a journey through time, tracking the history of the landscape around the imposing former hunting lodge of the Dukes of Hamilton at Chatelherault Country Park.
Playing a definitive role in Scottish history, the Estate was built as part of a designed landscape - situated to take advantage of the views to the north and south. Come and find out about plans to reveal the southern views for the first time in decades and how this will improve the quality of the woodlands that form part of the Clyde Valley Woodlands National Nature Reserve.
Walks take around 1 hour and will follow the trail over the Duke’s Bridge.
Please dress appropriately.
