We will be having a Fundraiser for Air Force Captain Anthony Simone to help raise money for Home for our Troops to provide a home for our local hero. Captain Anthony Simone was on the third deployment when he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. He was the pilot of an HH-60 CA Helicopter (a combat search and and rescue helicopter). He was shot down while attempting to land to rescue an Injured service member. With little control of the spinning helicopter, Captain Simone was somehow able to steer to an area away from the prepared landing zone, no doubt saving lives on the ground. Five service members were killed in the crash, only two on board survived..... Tony and the gunner at the back of the helicopter. Captain Simone is grateful for the opportunity to receive a specially adapted home built by Homes for our Troops. He looks forward to more freedom and independence in his home where he and his family can live without barriers and focus on the future. Captain Simone says "Semper Gumpy. ....... Always be flexible! No matter what you want in life.....make the best of what you get.....maximize your results! Thank you for helping me to maximize mine. We would greatly appreciate your help in donating any goods and/or services to be used as door prizes and raffles for the building a home for Captain Simone fundraiser.
