We have so much fun on a Friday night it probably shouldn't be legal! Welcome to our new Weekly Brighton AcroYoga + Handstand Workshops. These weekly sessions are 3 hours long where we explore the fun, cool challenging stuff that usually only shows up in workshop.
Most people who've been practising AcroYoga or partner acrobatics for any length of time would probably agree that most the cool things they learn they pick up in workshops. There's more time to break things down and the fact that you are in an ideal environment with like minded people keen to learn practise.. doesn't it make sense to make the most of it having spent 30 minutes warming up.
The challenge with learning cool things at workshops is that unless you're able to practise them again soon and hopefully, it can become a memory of something cool you learned at a workshop rather than something you know.
That's our aim for you with these weekly 3 hour workshops,, for you to progressively and regularly practise things til you own them and have started down the road to mastering them.. dare i say that? Yeah why not!
All levels and abilities are always welcome including beginners. Though this is not specifially a beginners workshop! You'll be given things to work on according your ability, experience and the pace at which you like to learn. As a beginner you will also hopefully be inspired by what is going on around you.
Drop In = £25
Monthly = £60 (4 x Sequential Fridays = £15 per session)
(Consessions for full time students)
7.30pm Handstands: Warm up, Conditioning, Spotting etc
8.30-10.30 AcroYoga: hand2hand, long flows, high work, lifts, pops, challenging sequences etc
Our monthly payment plan is to encourage and support students serious about learning and improving in handstands and AcroYoga. Straight handstand is an illusive skill to learn requiring regular practise. Success in learning handstand can be measured in increments of 1 millimetre. Without consistent practise and live feedback we are kidding ourselves and you about being able to help you learn good handstands.
"Repitition is the mother of skill"
Likewise AcroYoga and hand2hand need regular practise to see good progress. Thankfully it's loads of fun so it's easy to practise and get better.
The Ki Centre is a big space with high ceilings and padded floor, ideal for study and safe practise of high level acrobatics. So we take full advantage of these factilities to practise things often considered challenging and make them normal.
ACROYOGA: Blends the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics and thai massage. These three lineages form the foundation of a practice that cultivates trust, playfulness and connection.
You don't need to bring a partner but are welcome to bring a friend. We promise that you'll have fun, be challenged, feel safe and yet do things you didn't think you were capable of.
*Although this class does not require a partner, you're welcome to bring a friend, partner or dance partner. You will be paired up with someone who is opposite to what you do *base or *fly. Though we encourage everyone to learn and practise both roles.
"Eugene and Pip are two amazing souls who specialise in AcroYoga and I can't recommend them highly enough! They have this incredible energy and are extremely talented. I've booked them in for a workshop in March, I've a feeling it's going to be a complete sell out. I'm very excited, acroyoga is the most fun EVER!"
