Boyzone to star at Scarborough Open Air Theatre
Scarborough Borough Council is delighted to announce that one of the world’s best loved boy bands, Boyzone, will be returning to Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Saturday 13 June following a truly amazing performance to a sell-out crowd at the venue last summer.
Hot on the heels of the success of their BZ20 album and ‘BZ20 – The Anniversary Tour’, Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham continued their career renaissance with the release of ‘Dublin To Detroit’ last November, the first themed album of their 20 year career.
‘Dublin To Detroit’ is packed with hits from start to finish, including eternal favourites such as The Supremes’ ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’; Jimmy Ruffin’s ‘What Becomes of the Broken Hearted’; Jackie Wilson’s ‘Higher and Higher’ and ‘Reach Out (I’ll Be There)’ by The Four Tops.
Speaking about the album the boyz said:
“We feel very lucky to have been given the chance to record such an amazing collection of songs for our ‘Dublin To Detroit’ album. We could easily have done eleven more great tracks from that era but we hope there’s something for everyone in the choices we made. We now just can’t wait for the chance to perform them live for all our great Boyzone fans around the world.”
The Scarborough audience will be treated to tracks from the new album as well as many of the boyz’ biggest hits to date from a 22 year career that includes eight albums, over 25 million record sales, hundreds of gigs and millions of memories.
