Guided horseback ride will leave from the event area at 10 am and should last a few hours. After that, folks can ride trails on their own, pitch horseshoes, fish, or just relax at their campsite. That evening there will be a fire to roast marshmellows and hot dogs with some bluegrass being picked around the fire. There will be inflatables from 12-5 pm. For any information call 606-499-0567.
The third annual Bluegrass On The Mountain Horseback Riding Festival will take place on Saturday, May 16 at the event area of the park (about 2 miles above the Hwy 119 Trailhead Bridge on the right). The event will feature guided horseback trail rides, music from some local bluegrass and gospel acts, food, fishing in any of the many ponds on the park, primitive camping, a horseshoe pitching contest, and much more!
Best of all? Everything is free of charge! No permits are needed for the trails or the event!
