You are invited to the Fourth Annual Blacksburg Planned Parenthood Spring Lecture Series!
This year is especially exciting as we welcome actress and activist Kathleen Turner, who is the chair of the national Planned Parenthood Federation of America Board of Advocates. Kathleen has starred in films as Peggy Sue Got Married, Romancing the Stone, and Serial Mom as well as theatrical roles including The Graduate, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Kathleen is a longtime supporter of Planned Parenthood and says, "As I travel the country, I'm still shocked at what I see. Attacks on women and women's health are rampant. No woman should have to face these attacks to access the health care she desperately needs."
We also welcome Jenny Black, the new President & CEO of our newly merged affiliate Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. Having started her career with Planned Parenthood more than 15 years ago, Jenny brings leadership experience and expertise steeped in the care Planned Parenthood provides women, men, and young people every day. Jenny has previously served as the CEO of both Planned Parenthood of New Mexico and Planned Parenthood of Maryland.
Kathleen and Jenny will present remarks to the audience, and you will have the opportunity to meet and speak with them personally and enjoy food and drinks courtesy of the Blacksburg Country Club.
Click "Tickets Available" to view sponsorship opportunities and to RSVP for the reception. Proceeds will support the preventive reproductive health care services and community health education Planned Parenthood provides to the community every day.
