Going to check out Big Sur, CA area for Memorial Day weekend. Planning on visiting the top spots in this coastline such as Point Lobos reserve, Monterey bay, Julia Pfiefer State Park, McWay Falls, Garrapata State Park, Bixton Bridge, etc. Planing on doing a couple of hikes, most of them I read they are fairly easy and short, though extremely beautiful and scenic. This will be a very chill, relaxing trip to enjoy on of the most beautiful and scenic coastlines known.
Most campsites around this area either are booked or are first come first serve and there are quite a lot, so the earlier we get there the better (planning on getting there before sunset hopefully). No campsite picked yet since it will all depend on their availability, though I have a few in mind to check out and see if we can get a spot. Come prepare to wing it somewhere else in the worst case scenario though.
Leaving to Big Sur, CA on Friday 22nd at 7:00am. and planning on being back Monday 25th before 6pm hopefully.
Bring your usual camping gear; sleeping bag, pad, tent, food/snacks for those days, Hiking and comfortable clothes (3 change of clothes probably), small cooler or bigger if you are sharing, Blanket, pillow, whatever to sleep comfy (we are car camping but check with your driver for car space).
Costs: Gas money and depending on the number of people in your carpool and type of vehicle, I'm guestimating around $50-60 roundtrip pp. Bring extra cash for food on the road, we might stop at a restaurant here and there in that area. Cash to pitch in for firewood.
