I am putting on this benefit for Jadyn's family to help raise money to cover the expenses that they will endure during the next two years. Scotch and Soda will be playing, we will have a Live Auction, Silent Auction, and Bake Sale! Hope to see everyone there!
Here is Jadyn's Story :
On September 26th 2014, Jadyn was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia. On that day she was supposed to be celebrating her 5th birthday. Instead she was at the University of Iowa Hospital with an IV, going into surgery for a lumbar puncture and bone marrow biopsy to check for more leukemic cells. The preliminary results came back postive later that day. On Septemeber 29th, Jadyn went into surgery again to install a port for easier access when giving her chemo-therapy and drawing and transfusing blood. Jadyn has already had multiple surgeries on her spine and hip. For the first couple months she had lumbar punctures scheduled every week. She has had various transfusions for platelets and blood cells. Jadyn is currently on her sixth month of chemo-therapy and goes to UIHC once a week. She also goes to a local medical facility 2-3 times a week to have her blood counts checked. Often they are too low and that complicates her chemo schedule. During the length of her chemo her immune system doesn't function, making even a slight fever cause for concern. This is just the beginning of Jadyn's journey. Standard treatment requires a minimum of 2 1/2 years to fully treat her. Please... Help support our family in trying times, join Jadyn in her fight, and show her that she is not alone in fight against cancer. -Brittny (Jadyn's Mother)
