Join us for our weekend long celebration of Beltaine. We’re very excited because this is our 10th year holding this event. It’ll be great to see both old and new friends gather in community.
Why at the end of May? Beltaine is the celebration of planting crops and Canaan’s growing season starts late and ends early. We are about a month behind Europe in our weather and agricultural season.
Traditionally one of the signs of Beltaine was the flowering of the Hawthorns, and Memorial Day weekend is the time the native NH Hawthorns come into bloom. The goats on the farm here at A Sacred Place are having their kids beginning in April. Guests are welcome to help feed a baby goat or learn how milking is done.
Enjoy camping and gathering around A Sacred Fire for a Bardic Night in the evenings. Bring a poem, a story to tell, a song to sing, or an instrument to play.
On Sunday we will hold ritual in the Labyrinth and dance the Maypole to celebrate the union of the Lord & Lady, and ask for their blessings upon our fields and animals. Please bring your favorite prepared dish to share at the feast after ritual.
We are currently seeking vendors and workshop facilitators. At this time we do not have a Food Vendor. If you are interested in vending food, please let us know.
We’re always happy to have folks offer workshops, share their knowledge, teach a dance or drum rhythm. If you’re planning on offering a class, please let us know ASAP, so we can fit it into the schedule.
Vendors pay only their admission, there is no additional fee for vending, but we do ask that you pre-register so we can reserve your merchant space.
Please go to our website http://www.aspnh.org/ and follow the registration links.
All are welcome. A Sacred Place is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit.
Volunteers always welcome. Contact ASP for details.
PLAN TO ARRIVE between 9am and noon on Saturday if you are spending the weekend. (Vendors and full-time volunteers may arrive Friday night. )
