The Beaver is the original triathlon event at Belvoir Castle (beware of imitations). 2015 will be this popular triathlon's 10th year and it will once again be based in the stunning grounds of the Leicestershire castle itself, with all racing taking place in the castle grounds and surrounding area.
The triathlon event consists of an open water 1.9k swim - 74k bike - 20k run.
As one of the UK's first middle distance triathlon events of the year,The Beaver provides the ideal opportunity for triathletes to really test themselves early on in the season. It is also ideal for anybody building up to the challenge of running a long distance triathlon event during the summer.
This popular and challenging triathlon will take place on Saturday morning with the Little Beaver Olympic distance triathlon and the Speedy Beaver sprint triathlon taking place on the Sunday morning. With each of the 3 lap bike courses returning through the Castle grounds and past transition, it is ideal for supporters to really cheer on the triathletes!
Although this is an early season open water triathlon, the shallow 1.9k swim will ensure the water temperature is relatively high for the time of year. After a long run to transition, triathletes then complete the rolling 74km 3 lap cycle course and finish with a 4 lap spectator friendly 20km run.
You will be thankful for and enjoy the finish line!
As always, we welcome all athletes and hope to see our usual mix of ages and abilities at this great triathlon event. All finishers will receive a great finisher's memento to remember your Beaver experience.
