The Badger Honor Flight, a chapter of the Honor Flight Network based out of Madison, WI, will be arriving at Reagan National Airport (DCA) on Saturday, May 16. We need volunteers to come and cheer on the veterans at various parts of their day – this is our chance to show them support and thank them for their service to our country and our freedom. These veterans have waited more than 50 years for this recognition, and it is our duty to make this day unforgettable. There are three different options for volunteers: you can choose one part of the day, or join our Veterans for their entire journey. Please wear Badger red and be ready to cheer! 10am: Greet the veterans at the Welcome Ceremony, inside Reagan's Terminal C, near Gates 36-38 on Saturday (45 minutes to unload) This is a very exciting part of the day, and really sets the stage for how appreciated the veterans will feel all day long. 2:30pm: Greet the veterans when they stop and tour the WWII Memorial Plaza (1.5 hours) Veterans will be transported on buses around DC, and spend a great deal of time at the memorials erected in their honor. 6:30pm: Visit with the veterans inside Terminal C, near Gates 36-38 while they await the flight home (1 hour) This is another time of pure celebration as the veterans prepare to head back to Wisconsin. Oftentimes there is dancing and singing! In order to get through security at DCA without a boarding pass you will need an 'Honor Flight Greeter' pass, or Gate Access Pass, which you can reserve at this link <>. Please register at least 36 hours prior to the flight to allow time for security processing. Picking up your Gate Access Pass: Our flight arrives at Terminal C. There will be a USO podium decorated with balloons in front of the Sam & Harry’s pub area. You may pick up your GAP at the USO podium. Do not go to the US Airways Shuttle Ticket Counter. After you receive your GAP, you may proceed to the TSA entrance and on to the arrival gate. Please contact Lauren Ehlers at or (952) 769-7871 if you are interested in getting involved, or have any questions prior to the day of the flight.
