July last year ‘Contact Improvisation Groningen’ & ‘Random Collision’ invited Kay Patru (kaypatru.net) in Groningen. He gave an amazing movement research workshop. Both the people who joined & Kay himself were very enthusiastic, and longed for a follow-up. During that weekend Kay managed to bring us in our physical, sensing and (e)motional experience, and that was amazingly fulfilling….. looking forward for more bodily joy & research!

BACK TO BASICS!
In this workshop we revisit some essential elements of dance and contact improvisation for anyone interested in expressing his/her creativity through movement.
Can we rediscover the joy of sitting, standing, walking, rolling, running and falling together?
Can we come into contact with each other with curiosity, openness and daring?
We will attempt to answer these questions through practice and observation to refine and tune into these primary movements, and expand our awareness of dancing the moment while developing a sense for group composition in relation to space.
There will be plenty of room for improvisation and fun as well as questioning our dancing practice together.
