Winnipeg's autumn still is bringing the music to Pressed with the help of locals The Brook and Tall Trees! - Autumn Still breezed into the music scene in 2014 with the release of their self-titled debut EP, appearing on Earshot charts across Canada and quickly reaching #1 on CKUW. The Autumn Still EP was positively reviewed in several publications, including Exclaim! Magazine’s description that the music “evokes the empty, wind-swept spaces of the band's hometown”. With a fresh perspective on alternative pop, Autumn Still draws inspiration from a vast array of influences such as new wave icons the Talking Heads and Canadian indie-rockers The New Pornographers. Their much-anticipated full-length is set to be released in fall 2015. - The Brook is an alt-folk rock band from Ottawa, ON. Since their formation in 2013, they’ve been turning heads in the Ottawa music scene with their unique brand of catchy, multi-dimensional folk rock. In just under a year, the band has accomplished much including winning CKCU-FM’s TunedIn Contest, performing at RBC Bluesfest's "Bluesprint" Series, and embarking on a 7-city tour of eastern Canada. They released their debut EP 'Start Swimming' on January 30th, 2014 and are currently working on their debut full-length album. - Frequenting bars before they could even drink in them, Tall Trees are a fairly young rock band — they all turned 19 this year. That being said, you wouldn’t be able to tell from just listening to them. The members of TT are all classically trained musicians and are currently studying music at the University of Ottawa. In the past, the guys have frequented Zaphod’s, Dekcuf, The Rainbow, Raw Sugar Café and many other places playing alongside the likes of The Lionyls, Eagleson, AJ Vincent, Bend Sinister, and JPNSGRLS (to name a few). Since independently releasing their debut album “How To Take A Fall” to a sold out venue, the guys have proceeded to play at Ottawa Folkfest, E.L.E Fest, Rogers Daytime TV, and many other fantastic shows! Stick around and watch us grow!
