8:30am - Thursday - May 21st - Sacramento County Courthouse: 720 9th Street, Department 4 (IMPORTANT: the department has changed from the last three appearances)
Sisters and brothers, Maile Hampton will have court for a resisting arrest charge on Thursday - May 21st, we need your support!
The Sacramento police outrageously tried to charge ANSWER coalition activist Maile Hampton, a young black woman, with felony lynching. After holding her initially on $100,000 bail, Maile is now out of jail and has had her felony charge dropped but still faces jail time on a misdemeanor "resisting a peace officer" charge.
It is extremely important that we attend the court date as a of show solidarity with Maile and all dedicated activists facing trumped up charges as a product of the police attack on the Black Lives Matter movement. We must show the system that the community supports Maile!!
We will fight tirelessly for justice for Maile and we hope that justice will prevail.
