Bryce, the south London dwelling music producer behind the Fotomachine (formerly known as PhOtOmachine) moniker, has mastered the art of balance. His selections and productions manage to tiptoe the fine line between yesteryear classics and the unknown sound of tomorrow.
Spending much of his youth around the pioneering Saxon Sound System, (the very same Saxon who influenced Massive Attack and UK sound system culture) it would be fair to say Bryce is a soundboy by birth right.
The Fotomachine sound has been described by some as Hazy Techno and Deviant Disco but it goes beyond than that. Drawing inspiration from Black dance music with a hint of the offkey has found fans in Benji B to Fourtet, leading to Fourtet requesting a Fotomachine from the man himself.
Outside of the studio, Fotomachine is label boss of the Ninja Tune distrubuted Technicolour record label and is gearing up for a slew of releases. Mid 2014 see forthcoming records from BNJMN, KUTMAH and Hieroglyphic Being so prepare for the invasion. Culture.
