A peaceful protest rally against animal cruelty will be held outside the Gladstone Court House at 14 Yarroon Street.
This is the date that the owners of the two Huskies will be at court, facing trial for animal cruelty charges against Lady & Misty, who were locked on a verandah for years and went into the care of the RSPCA, badly emaciated, & covered in flea's and ticks. Lady (the older of the pair) has had her ears illegally docked, and had severe medical issues seeing her in and out of the vet over the 6weeks they have been in care. Unfortunately on 25/8/14 Lady was put to rest, after suffering severe renal failure and spending the weekend in emergency care.
I encourage all animals lovers who have the day off, to attend and show their support for animal rights. Although this rally wont impact the decision of the court - the aim of the rally is to draw public attention to the case, shame the perpetrators, and show that Gladstone residents will not stand for animal cruelty.
Those who are not able to attend, it would be greatly appreciated if you could spread the word and/or donate to the local Friends of rspca Gladstone branch by depositing into the below bank details:
Friends of the RSPCA Gladstone
BSB: 124 - 073
If you PM me your deposit amount, date, name and address I can get tax deductable receipt mailed out to you for amounts greater than $5.
Everyone's support throughout this case has been greatly appreciated :)
Stay tuned for updates, and keep our fingers crossed for maximum penalty for the two adults involved in this case.
