It’s 150 years since an obscure English writer called Charles Lutwidge Dodgson published the curious tale of a little girl who falls down a rabbit hole under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. Since then, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland has been through more than 100 editions, sold millions of copies worldwide, been translated into 174 languages, and is now widely acknowledged as a timeless classic. Join us for this special event of live readings, debate and celebration, featuring Robert Douglas-Fairhurst, author of a new biography of Carroll, actress Fiona Shaw, who has recorded readings of the book for the BBC and Vanessa Tait, the great-granddaughter of Alice Liddell, the girl who inspired the Alice character, and the author of The Looking Glass House.
