I’m so excited to announce that I will be offering consistent AcroYoga classes starting May 17th! Over the past year, I’ve watched the St. Louis AcroYoga community grow from virtually non-existent into a bustling, excited, and rather talented group of monkeys through park jams, living room practices, workshops, and trainings from visiting AcroYoga teachers. Transitioning into classes is the next evolution for this community of “regular” humans into full-blown superhumans, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to invite you to be a part of it.
Starting Sunday, May 17th, I will run a 6-week class on from 5-6:30, giving the group an opportunity to advance their skills together. Additional classes will be offered based on demand and progression.
Space is limited to just 10 students, so sign up early to reserve your spot. Class descriptions, pricing, and dates are listed below. Classes take place at 1301 S Vandeventer.
AcroYoga 1 introduces fundamental AcroYoga postures such as folded leaf, bird, throne, star, shoulderstand, whale, and back bird, as well as basic transitions and principles such as shifting weight and stacking lines. This class emphasizes the different responsibilities of the base, flyer, and spotter, and individuals will be encouraged to try out all three roles. You are not required to sign up with a partner, and there are no prerequisites to join this class other than a willingness to play!
AcroYoga 2 (Coming soon!)
AcroYoga 2 explores postures such as free shoulderstand, side star, couch, and thinker, while building on the skills taught in AcroYoga 1 through more complex transitions and beginning washing machines such as barrel roll and ninja star. Prerequisites: Base and fly front flying series, base and fly star, smoothly guide a flyer while basing a 5-minute therapeutic session.
