Decided to do something a little bit different for my 27th birthday this year. I have teamed up with pitthopkins.org and Spill Lounge to throw a charity event to benefit the Pitt Hopkins Research Foundation! It will be a night of fun, local music and good drinks, all to benefit an amazing cause. It is a completely public event, so all are welcome.
Pitt Hopkins Syndrome (or PTHS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder with approximately 500 diagnosed cases worldwide (although most likely under-diagnosed). Even though the cause of PTHS is known, there are currently no pharmaceutical treatments available for this disorder. The Pitt Hopkins Foundation is committed to accelerating progress toward effective treatments and ultimately a cure for PTHS, by directly funding the most promising research.
There will be a suggested donation of $5 at the door. While it is not mandatory for entry, all donations will be going straight to the Foundation.
We will also be holding a silent auction/raffle for goods and donations from local businesses.
If you, or anyone you know would like to get involved or donate please get in touch with me.
Share this with all your friends! And stay tuned for more updates as we gain sponsors and the date draws near!!
