A Hopeful Encounter, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established in 2014 to promote holistic growth in South East Asia. We are raising funds to build our FIRST school in Laos, in a rural village near the border of Laos and Vietnam; Ban Phawai. This village is made up mostly of Hmong farmers. Their children are currently going to school in a two room building made from wooden planks that have deteriorated and falling apart. The 3rd grade class is having lessons in a half constructed hut next to the school building. Just as important, the school currently does not have access to early education, this means, children who are age appropriate to attend preschool and kindergarten are not getting the early education needed, as studies have shown here in the states, making them at risk youths. Education is a BASIC human right. Let’s give these children a real chance at education! Let’s build their school TOGETHER!
