Wayne C. Johnson dedicated his life to his love of recreation. Whether it was at work, in his community service or cheering on his favorite teams, his love of recreation was known to all.
Our friend Wayne passed away in 2008 after a short but valiant battle with cancer. In an effort to keep his memory alive, his family and friends have decided to hold an annual golf outing in his honor. This outing is scheduled for the Friday before Memorial Day and is the kickoff to the City of Greensburg Community Days event. Wayne was a volunteer on the Community Days Committee for many years and was instrumental in starting the weekend event.
All proceeds from the outing will benefit Greensburg Recreation and the community at large. The most recent benefit is the addition of a new putting and chipping green as well as a golf cart parking area at Mt. Odin. The proceeds from this outing were combined with two other generous donations from the Jimmy Cook Memorial Outing and the Megan Smith Memorial Outing to make this project a reality. A plaque was installed at the sight acknowledging these generous donations.
We are asking for your help in making this outing a success once again. We hope that you can join us for a day of golf and fun in Wayne’s honor. If you can’t make it to golf, would you consider joining us for lunch, sponsoring a tee, donating a prize, or even making a cash donation? We truly appreciate involvement at any level. If you have any questions regarding the event, please see the attached flier or contact Brian Tutich at Mt. Odin Golf Course. He can be reached at 724-834-2640. Thank you for your help.
See you on Friday, May 22nd!
