Hello! Happy Fall! It's been rescheduled finally! Who is looking forward to Thanksgiving break?? We sure are! Come and join the fellowship and mingle with food, drinks and good friends. Please spread the word!
Purpose: To strengthen the community for hearing children of Deaf families and friends (CODA= Child Of Deaf Adults or you can say KODA which means specifically Kids of Deaf Adults)
Location: Bear Creek Park, Pavilion #3- near a playground so you can keep a close eye on your children
Erin Lyons - sandwiches
Dannette Anderson - mashed potatoes
Jill Womack - cookies
Jennifer Carberry - deviled eggs
***Bring your own beverages. No alcohol/glass beverage containers allowed***
If anyone can volunteer to do some grilling, then let's bring on some meat! There will be a BBQ pit right by the pavilion.
Dogs are permitted, but must be on leash no more than 6 feet in length.
If you want to bring or rent a moonwalk for the kids, please contact the Bear Creek Park office at 281-496-2177 and let them know. They will need a copy of your insurance if you own one or the rental company's insurance. Both have to have the additional insurance from Harris County. The pavilion has outlet plugs for you to use for the moonwalk, floor fans, etc....
Directions to the Pavilion #3: From Clay Road, get on Bear Creek Drive, Turn left on Schultz Lane, and then turn right on Eggling Lane. Find the green pavilion #3 right by the playground. (Just to be safe, print out a map of the park/area so you avoid getting lost of how to get there if it is your first time.)
To enjoy the CODA picnic, please follow the park rules and be civil and considerate of each other. If anyone damages the Bear Creek Park property, they will keep the $125 deposit that Erin Lyons made and she will expect you to pay her back. If one is not being courteous with another, Jennifer Carberry and Erin Lyons, the hostesses of this event, will have to ask you to leave. Thanks!
