Can Powell River once again perform 10,000 acts of compassion in one day? Inspired by the students from School District #47 & led by the community's Compassion Challenge Committee, the Compassion Challenge will spark a wave of goodness across the community. Show compassion to yourself, the environment, animals, and the community. Connect through meaningful acts of kindness, compassion, and service. Share your acts on www.thecompassionchallenge.org and #compassionchallenge Highlight the diversity of people in our community and the many ways we can help each other. Events during the day 8AM-3PM: 2nd Annual Walk for Compassion at Brooks Secondary School Track 4PM-5PM: Compassion Race (sponsored by First Credit Union) at the First Credit Union Parking Lot at 4PM 5PM-8:30PM: Compassion Festival and free BBQ (sponsored by Inclusion Powell River) Engage in compassionate acts Compassion Rocks: a community art project (more details to come) Powell River Living Magazine: Story Writing project Plant a tree, clean up some garbage, bake some cookies, give a hug or a high-five, listen and be present, slow down.
