Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fund-raising event, bringing our community together in hope, celebration, and memory. It is the largest fundraiser in the world for cancer research and a unique event which offers everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Everyone is encouraged to participate. Teams form from businesses, clubs, families, friends, hospitals, churches, schools and service organizations all united in one purpose -- fighting back against a disease which has altered the lives of so many.
Through the efforts of our Relayers, we were able to fund over 6 million dollars in cancer research last year in the state of Alabama and save Madison County residents hundreds of thousands of dollars though our patient support programs.
Each participant is encouraged to raise at least $100 for the American Cancer Society and on Relay day we come together to celebrate! We have a fun-filled day of activities and entertainment planned, food trucks coming out, an incredible luminaria ceremony to honor and remember those we love, and much more. We'll be going back to the 80s this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Relay, so get out those parachute pants and come join us! We'll even be having contests for best costumes and tent site.
