The Indian head massage course is very hands on; no previous experience in massage is required. It is an excellent stepping stone into a Massage training course.
I am a fully qualified and insured trainer. I still work as an Indian Head Massage Therapist so I can pass on my knowledge and successes.
The Indian Head Massage Therapy is massaging the head, neck, shoulders, back, upper arms, back to head, face and ears.
During the Indian Head Massage course, I demonstrate the movements and you then get to practice and receive the massage from other students. I also provide information on how to use your body effectively so that you don’t damage or strain your hands. I call out the routine whilst you are practising the Indian Head Massage so you can focus on getting the technique correct. I teach you about the importance of working slowly in order for your clients to achieve deep relaxation during their Indian head massage therapy. The maximum on the Indian head massage course is 6.
Previous students now offer the Indian Head Massage therapy in Edinburgh in offices, at charity events and at pamper parties. It is a popular treatment as it can be shortened to 20-30 minutes and the client remains clothed. Feedback from previous students say how much they enjoy doing the Indian Head Massage therapy as they find themselves relaxing as they carry out the treatment.
The Indian Head Massage course has been accredited by the CMA (Complementary Medical Association). Upon successful completion students will receive a CMA (Complementary Medical Association) Certificate in Indian Head Massage that can be added to their current insurance. The course has also been accredited by IPTI (Independent Professional Therapists International).
The greatest benefit from an Indian Head Massage is deeper sleep, more energy and time to relax.
The content of the Indian Head Massage course is:
History of Indian Head Massage
Contraindications of Indian Head Massage
The Procedure of the Indian Head Massage Therapy
You are then asked to complete 10 case studies at home (you will work on approximately 2- 5 clients as you need to do at least 2 Indian head massage treatments on each client). You will return approximately 8-10 weeks later to sit a practical exam which involves doing an Indian head massage therapy on a client without any notes.
I feel it is important to do the case studies and the Indian Head Massage practical exam in order for you to gain confidence before going out and charging clients. I will provide feedback on your case studies and exam.
Cost: £160 (deposit £60, £100 paid on morning of the course).
This includes nutritious lunch, tea, herbal tea, coffee, biscuits, water and a detailed manual. There is no additional cost to sit the practical Indian head massage exam.
Class size limited to 6.
Testimonial from Heather & Laura (West Lothian)
If you're looking to branch out into a new field or hoping to add to your skills then you will be hard pushed to find a better Indian head massage course or teacher than Geraldine McCullagh at Me-Time Therapies.
From the instant we contacted her she was professional, efficient and friendly - even helping us out when circumstances collided with our original dates. That kindness and flexibility is hard to come by.
The instant we arrived we were made to feel completely welcome but no time was wasted and we were into the Indian head massage course before we knew it. As we were both very nervous about the whole thing we found this combination of relaxed yet effective teaching to be invaluable. Having lunch homemade every day was such a treat. We left the Indian head massage course well equipped to do our case studies. We were challenged throughout the two days Indian head massage course, happily exhausted and eager to put our new massage skills into practice. We cannot thank Geraldine enough for the effort she put into our class. Being a good teacher is a real skill and she definitely has it in abundance.
