We are back at The Spill in Peterborough, Ontario!
Mumbai Standstill was formed just outside of Toronto in Uxbridge, Ontario by Ben Race, Mark Givelas and Jamie Gallard. Early band practices were held in the garage, where the stripped-down acoustic versions of many Mumbai Standstill songs originated. With big things in mind, the 3 members decided on a bigger sound and sought out the talents of CJ Blodgett (banjo) Brett Simmonds (bass) Stuart Retallack (keys/trumpet) and Brandon Cox(drums). The seven of them got started on what would be their debut album Troubles.
Amidst the constant shows, rehearsals and writing sessions, Troubles was officially released a year and a half after Mumbai Standstill's inception: a debut album that was recorded, produced and funded directly by the band. With a sound that defies any single genre, you should definitely give this music a listen.
1990future sounds like the '80s, played in the '90s ... now. We play all music ... ranging from classic rock to alternative rock and nothing in between
Delivering unforgettable hooks, catchy melodies, thought provoking lyrics, and a powerful live performance is what One Divided does best. After the release of their self-titled EP in 2008, and their full length album “Shape Your Life” in the fall of 2010, the singles “Black To White”, “The Mask I Hide Behind” and “Solutions” were featured on commercial radio station 94.9 The Rock. The LP was also awarded with "Best Rock Recording of 2010" by the Durham Region Music Society. In 2013, One Divided released the 5 song EP “Good Reasons” to great reviews and reception across their already diverse fan base and is now following it up with the 6 song EP “Free Ride To Nowhere” in early 2015.
