Sunday, May 17, 2015
Schuylkill County Fairgrounds in Summit Station
12:00 to 4:00 p.m
This event is free and open to the public.
This year’s Festival will highlight the 60th anniversary of the Schuylkill Conservation District, the county agency behind the Festival for the past 14 years. Fairgoers can “Leave Your Mark on Schuylkill County” by adding their handprint to a large collage. There will also be a festival-wide treasure hunt that highlights the diverse work of the Conservation District. Everyone that completes the treasure hunt will take home a prize and be entered in the Grand Prize drawing for a $50 Cabela’s gift card.
The Bear Creek Festival offers a multitude of free activities for all ages. Those that love the outdoors can participate in Schuylkill County Trout Unlimited’s annual fishing derby or shoot Hover Ball Archery by Schuylkill County Sportsmen’s Association & Sportsmen’s Advisory Board. Craft lovers can build their own bluebird house with Home Depot and paint their own flower pot to take home. Anyone interested in live action can enjoy a demonstration by DEKKA-HAUS German Shepherds, animals from Red Creek Wildlife Center, live music by recording artist KJ, or get up-close at the Blue Mountain Livestock Club’s 4-H Petting Zoo.
