For more than 25 years, people from communities throughout the world have joined together at a Relay For Life event to raise funds that support the American Cancer Society’s efforts. Relay For Life is a team event dedicated to building community spirit and honoring loved ones who are affected by the disease. We are thrilled to again be bringing the American Cancer Society’s signature event to the Hoboken community! Relay For Life of Hoboken will be held on Pier A overlooking the Manhattan Skyline on May 16th 2015 from 11am-11pm. We hope to have over 1000 participants from the Hoboken community and surrounding areas. Teams comprised of families, friends, co-workers and neighbors will gather to enjoy live music, food, games and heart felt stories while walking to find a cure.
The two primary ways to get involved in the event are:
*form a team of friends, family or colleagues to join us in May
*make a monetary donation to our event
*Dedicate a Luminaria to someone special who has been or is currently battling cancer
As a team, the funds you raise will go to ongoing research efforts against cancer, support those individuals who are currently fighting this disease and promote education of cancer and prevention and detection behaviors. Even small amounts raised make a big difference raising $120 can provide 144 petri dishes for Society funded researchers working toward a cure and $1,000 can provide a free stay for a cancer patient at an American Cancer Society Hope Lodge undergoing treatment. With your dedication and support, we know that we will be one step closer to a cure.
